A Week In Dresses

Hello lovelies! I hope you are enjoying the new and improved Little Blog Of Horrors. My own dot com, and a complete makeover thanks to the awesome Kaelah of Little Chief Honeybee. Anyways, shameless self promotion over, as this title suggests, I’ve had a rather fun week in dresses 🙂

Me and the girls headed to Alton Towers for the day, and the highlight of the 4 hour road trip down there (apart from now that’s what I call disney on full blast) was discovering Krispy Kreme at one of the motorway stops. I’ve never been so sleep deprived but happy at the same time!

Because we went on a week day, and arrived super early we managed to get around all the big rides in only a few hours. Never waited any more than 20 minutes to get on a ride which was awesome too. I wore my new dress from Glamorous – why did I not know this brand existed until a couple of weeks ago?! Their stuff is absolutely lovely. Really reasonably priced too, and apparently stocked in quite a few boutiques in Glasgow. I saw the pictures from their press night down south on a few blogs and I can’t wait to get my hands on some new pieces when they are released. Dinner at Mother India in Glasgow. By far the BEST curry I have ever had! My boss took myself and the other HOD’s on Secret Fortune there one night before we started filming and I knew I had to drag John back at some point. Wearing another dress from Glamorous, with a cute little car print. My waist looks really chunky in the dress while I’m sitting down but I promise I looked a wee bit better than that standing up 🙂 I’ve not been able to banish my muffin top in time for summer because of this silly pulled muscle in my back. I really want to exercise, and I’m doing the race for life next sunday so I seriously need to get active this week.

Myself, John, Louise and Colin also went to the Glasgow Roller Derby that day. It was me and John’s first ever bout, and he seemed to get a hang of the rules quicker than I did, but it was such good fun. Pretty rough too, as I kinda expected. I would love to be a roller girl, those girls are just awesome! Have you ever been before?

A little break in dresses (I’m a cheater, soz!) But I wanted to show off my new flower necklace from Miss Fluff.

Can you believe this is all hand cut? It’s flawless! Sare is a graduate of London College Of Fashion and one talented lady. Recent additions to her etsy include skulls, cupcakes, swallows and hearts. What a talented lady. I would never normally be drawn to leather jewellery (constantly stuck in a Tatty Devine-esque rut) so it’s nice to branch out to something a little different now and again eh? I need someone to take me shopping, I have far too many bad habits and ‘go to’s when it comes to clothes and accessories. I always feel worried trying things that are out of my comfort zone, which brings me to dress number 3…

My first ever maxi dress! This little number is from AX Paris. I fell in love with the galaxy print, and wanted to take the plunge and order something that I didn’t have anything similar to in my wardrobe.  This one hits the nail on the head. What do you think? I am a shorty but the length was not too bad, it was brushing the ground a bit so I will probably run it through the sewing machine and take it up an inch. But a part of me kinda thinks they’re supposed to be super floaty like that? See, I’m rubbish! It is so comfy, and I was really pleased to discover that AX Paris had their own online store, as I’d only seen their stuff in New Look concessions before and I really love it. I wore this into town with my flatmate for lunch, and then took advantage of the beautiful weather we’re having and walked all the way to the hospital at the top of town to meet a very special little lady.

My baby sister, Lily Higgins Millar was born at 12.13pm and weighed 8lbs 10oz 🙂 I am so over the moon for my Dad and Stepmum. Lily is a perfect little bundle, an absolute blessing and I am head over heels for her already. She slept the whole time I was at the hospital so hopefully her and mum will be home in the next couple of days and I can go over for some more cuddles (and silence the broody monster inside me – ha!)

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend whatever you’re upto. I don’t want to jinx it but I hope Mr Blue Sky stays with us for just a wee while longer. We haven’t had a ‘proper’ summer in what seems like forever.
