Me and my new buddy, Mr Lotso Huggin’ Bear. His tummy smells like strawberries too, auw. Fell in love with him after watching Toy Story 3 (even tho he is a wee bit of a baddy) A few people told me before I saw it, that I looked like Bonnie. This is Bonnie…
Haha, I really dunno? Maybe with my shorter hair and natural colour. But maybe she just looks like any little girl with dark eyes and hair! I also loved that Totoro made an appearance in this film ♥ He is my favourite Studio Ghibli character EVER.
I’ve not really been ‘in the loop’ on twitter and with my blog commenting this week. I am reading/watching, but a little bit sad I can’t join in. Work has been so busy, lets just say I am not built for 8am starts. Total wuss. So not been doing much in the evenings, but here’s a little run down of what I was upto before tv land took over my life again:
Sushi with the Mr.
On our way to see Tron in 3D (I had laffy taffy, a Oh Henry! bar and a mini tub of ben and jerrys chocolate brownie ice cream while watching it. Almost went into a sugar coma, I kid you not)
Milkshakes and gourmet burgers in Ketchip with some old uni friends. Then onto the Hillhead Book Club which was so cosy. I planned on getting a pot of tea, cause I was so full after lunch, but the strawberry and lime cider was too tempting.
I totally meant to share with yous properly what I got from the sales. Amongst some lush boxes, makeup, and a few other non sales bits and pieces including my hollister cardi and varsity jacket from new look, most of the sale shopping I did was in Urban Outfitters. This is a shop which I love to ‘oooh’ and ‘ahhh’ in, but 99% of the time I find that the clothes are way too overpriced, or too ‘cool’ for me! I don’t mean to sound like an idiot, but I find fashion (especially vintage, and anything else a little bit ‘out there’) intimidating. I tend to stick to what I know.
But this year, the Urban Outfitters sale has been brilliant – I picked up all of the above over christmas and new year, and all were heavily discounted. I also got a little dark pink peter pan collared blouse, which I’ve forgotten to picture but was reduced from £35 to £9.99. I paid between £10-20 for each item above, and most of them were originally priced between £30-£60. SCORE.
A wander around DeCourcys Arcade In Glasgows west end. So many cute and quirky wee shops down this end of town, so if Ella came to visit this is defo where I would take her 🙂 and if Gem (Fatale) and Gem (FGWL) come to visit Bonnie Scotland this year, this is defo where I will take them! Not to mention the tearoom that’s opened in it too, and my fave girls at The Maisonette.
(Above, cupcakes from the Cupcake Shop which I have given and recieved. Looking forward to getting all domesticated when it comes to cooking/baking, and being crafty again this year. And I mean non work related crafty!)
I’m pretty sure there was something else I was gonna mention, but again my brain doesn’t hold stuff for very long, gahh! When it comes to my obsessive list making – if its not written down, it doesnt exist. Think I need some brain training along with my trips to the gym. Or maybe its just too much hollyoaks and river city turning my brain to a pulp. Haha, loves it though ♥

I'm always impressed by your lovely long posts 🙂
Looks like you got some great bargains – I love the spotty dress in the first (purchases) pic – & I THINK the grey floral dress underneath is a dress I own! I couldn't quite tell from the pic, but it certainly looks the same. You've obviously got very good taste!

Mm I love Ketchup milkshakes! Can't beat Hillhead Bookclub though, it's my favourite place to go in Glasgow!
I had no idea that arcade existed! I've heard of Made in the Shade (always working when it's on, booo!) but I had no idea there was a whole arcade! I might have to adventure over next time I'm in town!

I will deffo be visiting bonnie land if it kills me this year, thinking of summer time though, I'm not freezing my brummie arse of for no1, not even you Ayden payden!!! Thos cupcakes make me want to submerge my face in cake!! ohhh a tea room in a vintage shop, sounds like my kinda visit. Good luck with the gym! I thought Tron was amazingly rubbish and wished I would of been in some sort of coma through it atleast. I love UO sales, it's like my fave shop, but I can never afford full price things xxx

Does it make me a bad person that I don't know what laffy taffy and Oh Henry! bars are?!
January 13, 2011 at 4:49 pmThat's great about your weight loss 🙂 x
Emma

January 13, 2011 at 5:17 pmand i loveee the polka dot dress with the cute collar, was that urban outfitters too then? x
Lollipop
NOOOOO!!! Lotso is EVIL! Although he had a pretty sad story that made him evil, when he had the chance to be nice and save the other toys he didn't, he left them to perish! My poor little Buzz!! They all held hands as they prepared to burn – so sad! (I totally know it's not real by the way hehe, just adore TS3!) xxx

I love that spotty dress! Peter pan collar & polka dots = win!

I was so sad that lotso was evil, however whenever I go into the disney store I do give him a a bit of a sniff
January 13, 2011 at 11:04 pmThat milkshake looks so good, and it's so cute that it's in a milk bottle – when I was little I always wanted to keep the milk bottles but my mum told me they belonged to the milkman so I couldn't…I still get the urge to steal one from time to time

River City! I sadly get so excited for tuesday nights, i'm so into it these days! I love decourcys! One of the little shops has such lovely bags, but i always seem to be skint when i go! Good to hear youre getting loads of work :). Looks like you got some super duper bargain, i pretty much only buy from urban outfitters when there's a sale! Anyways, i enjoyed the little catch up!! xo

Fab post Ayden, you have made me hungry with all those cupcake photos! Love your sales bargains, I am kind of regretting not really checking the sales out now!

Hey lovely
Decourcy's arcade is amazing. Auntie M's cake lounge is brilliant. Michelle in there is wonderful. She makes this GORGEOUS peanut butter vegan cake. Nomnomnom. It's pretty much my favourite.
I love Ketchup….I'd quite like if they opened one in the centre of town. Hillhead Bookclub is gorgeous, you should really head down for one of the Granny Would Be Proud fairs. They do banquets once a month. I got to go to the veggie banquet last year and I know the place has had some very mixed reviews on it's food but it was super scrummy when I went.
Looks like you got some gorgeous clothes missus. I got a few nice pieces (leopard print skirt and a variety of hats) but that's me skint as a bint till further notice.
Yo!Sushi is amazing right? Well okay…I think the sushi could have tasted a little fresher but I was sitting at the bar and the conveyer belt is just so much fun. I'm a fan of the little taps with water as well. Went for the first time the other day. Nothing on homemade stuff but certainly will merit another visit.
Seems so weird so see you frequenting the same places I do. I'm sure we'll cross paths at some point in the new year…perhaps even at some GFF events 😉

Fab post as always Ayden – there's always so much that I want to comment on!
Firstly, how amazing was Toy Story 3? I think Toy Story is the only series of films where all three are equally as good. Sometimes a sequal can be a real let down but I loved them all! And now that you mention it, you do kind of look like Bonnie! She's cute though, so that's a good thing 🙂
That milkshake looks ridiculously good! I think you can justify a bit of junk food because you actually go to the gym (well done on the weight loss by the way!) I'm very good at the junk food side of things but not so much with the exercising…
Also, I feel the same with Urban Outfitters; I think it has some lovely stuff but it's always seriously overpriced or a bit too… trendy for me! Looks like you managed to get some fab stuff though – love the polka dot dress especially!

I love that you said treble. I've only ever heard that word said on The Weakest Link. So I laughed when you said it since I now kinda associate that program with you haha 🙂
January 14, 2011 at 7:11 pmLove all your new clothes, espesh the leopard print! x
Sarah
I love your Lotso bear, I was sniffing them all in the Disney store, yummy! Also looove your sales bargains, the nearest UO to me is Oxford Street so expect it's been wiped out of sales bargains, shame! The spotty dress is GORGE.
Good for you hitting the gym! I have been failing lately and can really see the difference, especially on my face. I have vowed to start the new year diet afresh on Monday!
January 14, 2011 at 7:20 pmMadame G
I've been all over the place since New Year as well. Not been able to keep up with everyone's posts and comments, so I really enjoyed reading all about evrything you've been up to!
January 16, 2011 at 10:15 amGreat sales haul and can't wait to see your new tat when you get it x
Rosie
I am always so envious of the cool places you mention in your blog; I never knew Glasgow had such an abundance of things I like there – cupcake shops, quirky shopping arcades and places you can eat gourmet burgers and milkshakes! Why did I choose Southampton eh? I picked the wrong city! You look blimmin gorgeous in your first two snaps; your hair always looks so perfect and shiny! I am one of the bloggy ladies with that leopard peter pan dress, it is so lovely on though so deffo a good choice. I wore mine on NYE with black tights and black peep toe heels, not exactly jazzy but still looked nice (I think!)xxxx
January 16, 2011 at 9:03 pmVintage and Cake
I really want to make cupcakes too 😛 if you get that good can I put in an order haha
Toy story 3 made me cry I loved that film so much, I was going to get hugs for Corben but I knew I would keep stealing him to smell his tummy hahaha.
I love what you got in the sale The NY top is so cool and I have the leopard print perter pan dress (think all us blog gals do, it is so bloody cute)
Hope you had a wicked weekend nice to hear your better and I have a love/hate relationship with early mornings haha
