Boys toys for the barking mad brother! (now if you don’t have a brother, these could also apply to boy besties, and if your boyfriend has a bro who you maybe buy for)
Shark Fin Ice Cube Tray – £7
My friend Leah got me a Paperchase cupcake shaped ice cube tray when I moved into my flat, and it makes putting ice in yer drink SO MUCH FUN 😀 And if they scoff their eyes at this, tell them it will keep their pint glass of coke cold for longer – thus maximising Call of Duty playing time without having to move their arse from infront of the TV.
MP3 Cassette Speaker – £12
Okay, so I hate wee idiots on the train who decide to share their music with us out of their phone/mp3 speakers rather than keeping it in their bloody headphones. Gee, thanks! I love techno music on the way home from a long day at work. Naaat. But these speakers are pretty cool, I would give them on the allowance that they keep them in the house/bedroom/common room at school, and away from moany commuters like myself 🙂
Grow Your Own Carnivorous Plant – £15
Contains 1 packet of venus fly trap seeds, 1 packet of pitcher plant seeds, 5 coir pots, 5 compost discs, 5 wooden markers and a booklet of growing tips.
A true ode of the Little Blog Of Horrors 🙂 What brother wouldn’t love a meat eating venus fly trap? I used to have one when I was younger, and when it hadn’t caught any flies the man from b&q told me to feed it little bits of corned beef, which I did. True story peeps.
However, if your brother is a little ‘un like mines, Next.co.uk also has lots of toys and games to keep them occupied.
Ninja Hamsters – £10
4 to choose from, each one has unique phrases and personalities.
My Mum has always annoyed me for being so ‘anti pet’, and Aaron is quite a loving and attentive little boy so I’m sure a Ninja Hamster would keep him on his toes and be well looked after :p
Blast Lab Messy Mess – £15
Messy experiments include making slime, egg yolk paint, mouldy soup, and stink bombs, Gloves and colourful manual are included.
And just to annoy my mum that little bit more (anything play-doh, paint, sand, or mess related at birthdays and christmas make her look like she’s going to cry! My bro and sis are too hyperactive and destructive right now) I think a stinky set, based on Richard Hammond’s kids tv show, would be great fun 🙂 Maybe not until he is a wee bit older however, this kit is advised for ages 10+.
We’re almost half way through my Next.co.uk gift guide, and I hope so far I’ve been able to show a range of good pressies and prices to suit everyone. The gorgeous Ella shared with me a couple of things from the site which she got her boyfriend, and I’ve already found my items for that post but I’m going to link to her suggestions at the end of it too 🙂 I’d love to hear at the end of these posts what you have bought for that particular person – so if you feel like sharing then please do! I’m hoping there will be a few panic ridden last minute shoppers who will be soaking up this inspiration like a sponge!
Some good news is that last night I finally got home to sleep in my own bed. I managed to get a taxi all the way home, but as soon as we got off the motorway and on the backroad to my town it was like an ice rink. Cars had been deserted everywhere, it was honestly like something out of a zombie film (dont even start me on how scared I am of zombies and that kind of armageddon) We have an early start tomorrow and are on a tight schedule every day, so if my boss thinks that all the crew will struggle to get in on time it might be a hotel again tonight. I have packed an overnight bag just in case. But hopefully I will be able to get home to David and Millie! Getting lots of cuddles last night was awesome ♥ One final question, do any of you have analytics installed on your blog? I finally got it working, and already have it installed on my portfolio website (which stats etc have proven very useful) but for my blog it has just been an absolute hoot when I read the first report this morning 🙂

I'm so buying these carnivorous plant seeds for my boyfriend! He's been mourning the death of his old venus fly trap, Mr. Bastard, for a while now, so maybe a new one would cheer him up…

As for the better half- he's a bloody nightmare to buy for so I settled on music that he's be lusting after and an art print of the London skyline- he's hoping to move that way in the spring.

Glad you managed to get home! Definitely getting the plants for my brother methinks, he's hard to buy for but that's a great idea.
December 9, 2010 at 6:35 pmThe snow seems to be thawing off a bit, it's got a lot warmer today compared to the freezing temperatures yesterday, but it's meant to snow again next week. Hopefully it won't lie because of all the water, town had a river running along the street today!
