Next Christmas blogger challenge – Gran

On the 3rd day of Christmas – Next.co.uk gave to me…

Glorious gifts for Gran’s! (young or old)

Transformulas Wrinkle Defence Facial Mask and Eye Patch Kit – £10
“Restore your skin’s natural radiance the natural way. Plants, herbs, roots and flowers are all crucial ingredients in the Wrinkle Defence Face Mask and Eye Patch Treatment by Transformulas. This is the anti-ageing, anti-wrinkle, anti-surgery and anti-needle solution you’re looking for.”

Ok so as soon as I read eye patch I though MY GRAN WOULD MAKE A GREAT PIRATE 🙂 but reading properly into this description it sounds like a face lift in a box, without the needles! Thumbs up to the natural ingredients, and at a tenner I think it’s a total steal. I love love love face masks and similar pamper kits so I’d be intrigued to see how effective this kit is. Sounds like a great skin detox and perhaps a mid month pick me up for after one too many nights on the bevvy and your skin is crying out for some tlc!

Bow Trim Leather Gloves – £15, £20 for the black studded ones.

My Gran is very get up and go, and you’ll never catch her without an umbrella and a warm pair of gloves in her bag. Just in case… I really need to follow her example. I am always caught completely unprepared in this glorious Scottish weather! I think she’d appreciate these cute leather gloves which have quite a modern twist. I’m more of a mittens girl, but when I ‘grow up’, I think I’d wear proper ladies gloves like these! :p

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Gift Set – £30
(Contains 50ml hand treatment, 50ml skin protectant and 50ml intensive moisturising body treatment)

I don’t want to offend my gran by suggesting the first gift and now this set, I mean there is no denying by the grand age of 70 you’re gonna have a few wrinkles… so indulging in some luxurious skin care and investing in good products shouldn’t be a crime! She swears by No7 Protect and Perfect Intense beauty Serum, so I think she would appreciate a hand, skin and body set like this one too.

(please excuse the crappy phone pictures)

I’m rather enjoying posting every day (never a normality for me) and with a themed post (again, not normal for me folks!) So its nice to get some good feedback and interesting comments about what we normally buy people at christmas time 🙂 I’m wanting to hear your suggestions as much as you are all having to listen to mines! I wrote the start of this post from the comfort of my room in the Crowne Plaza Hotel last night. If you follow me on twitter you might have seen me mention that my dad was one of the horribly unlucky people to get stuck on the motorway all day and night. I cannot imagine how distressing and frustrating it would have been to be stuck in that absolute chaos 🙁 So in reality, for myself and a few others from work who were stranded in the city, it could have been much worse. I know the snow has been ‘annoying’ to say the least, but the thought of it making people stranded, and endangering lives is just too awful to contemplate.

So last night I ordered dinner from room service, went on Ichat to David for a while, ran myself a huge bubble bath, got wrapped up in a dressing gown and watched tv until I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. This morning I got up early, had a lovely breakfast and walked into town for a fresh change of clothes from H&M and some mini toiletries from Boots. I was determined not to be a big dirty stop-out :p However trying to remove Mac Fluidline last night with water, soap and a white hotel towel (please forgive meeee!) was NOT fun! I am certainly going to be in the sin bin for that one. Fingers crossed I am able to get home later tonight, and if you’re out and about please stay safe.

Ayden x

Wow- I knew the snow was bad, but I didn't realise how bad. It's been avoided so far where I am.

The glov es are really sweet. I have a pact with my grandparents and my mum has the same thing because my Grandmother is THE biggest hoarder that all presents must be edible or drinkable, so each year I try and find either something local to where I've been living, or something she won't have seen/tried before. Always fun at markets etc where you can taste things!

I can't believe how bad Glasgow's gotten with the snow! How did your dad cope being stuck in his car for so long?!

I'm glad you are safe! Your poor dad. I saw it on the news and can imagine it being hell. There was me moaning about there not being enough snow here. I have stacked in many a time taking the dog out recently…some nice colours appearing on my legs and bum. 🙂

My nan would love those gloves! She's not one for handcreams etc but I've got her a really nice posh tea set for Christmas, she flipping loves a cup of tea.

    xx
