the flood

You know it’s time to get up when you’ve pressed snooze on your alarm for the 4th time, and the cat is sitting ontop of you pawing at your face (really, why do they do that?) and trying to lick your eyelashes. That’s how this morning started out for me.
This week saw the end of my crunchy painting jeans, which I’m pretty sure can stand up on their own now from the amount of Jesmonite/Fibreglass on them (my jean knees looked like itchy little coconuts) – and the beginning of warm studio time, wearing nice clothes again and actually putting my ‘face’ on in the morning.

Ok so I lie, this was actually yesterday before I went out for lunch with my dad, step mum and baby bro. My fringe needs cut already, doesnt it?

I will admit, stress levels are wavering and I had to cancel my gym induction this morning because burrowing under the covers really feels like a much better idea. Normally when I have a list of things to do, I’m all up on it! But today… feels different. I’m my own worst enemy in all honesty.
I think I will listen to some take that, have weetabix and a cuppa and wallow in this state of limbo for an hour or so more before I snap out of it and decide to actually do something with this day. Maybe because I know I’m working the next 9 days straight is the reason why I want to enjoy this warm bed a little while longer.

then everything came along’ ♥

If you feel like it's always best to let it take over for a few hours, it could be your body's way of telling you to relax and take it slow. I feel like there is a hundred and one things I should be doing right now but seriously sitting my in my dressing gown is taking priority and I have no idea why! x

Sometimes the duvet is all that can cure. No point ignoring the pull of it. You need that at times.
You sound like you've been on the go something serious the past few weeks.

I love your hair. The colour is really lovely. Nice lippie also.

Your makeup look awesome! Don't worry i'd chose the duvet over a treadmill anyday!
I hear you with the cat thing, except mine tends to sleep on the back of my head at different points in the night – suffocating me until I wake up. The the hamster starts chewing its cage ohh animals don't you love them!?

Good luck with the next 9 days, don't get too stressed and what helps me is usually like once i'm on 3 days i think 'this time tomorrow it will only be 4 days left!" and so on. Also treat yourself to a Christmas Starbucks! xxx

Cats are weird, one of mine used to lick my ears to wake me up, and another one used to wrap herself around my head in the night so I'd wake up to thunderous purring and inhaling fur 😐 still, licking eyelashes sounds more traumatic than both of these!
Comedy movies are a good de-stressing tool, watch one when you feel particularly gnarly!

Ayden! You look gorgeous girl – what lippy is that? Sometimes you just need a little day to relax and get it out your system. Hope your cuppa made you feel better – I love some tea when I'm feeling a bit blue.
Also, I've been listening to that song so much recently, you can't turn down a bit of Take That! Stay happy 🙂 xo

A Take That fan? Me too! My friends call me middle-aged for liking them haha! Bed is a much better three letter word than gym, in my opinion!
I feel like that every morning when I wake up for school! My bed always seems to be comfier when I have somewhere to go or something important to do! x

I'd most certainly pick the duvet over the gym to be honest, and you have been working so incredibly hard lately. I had a photoshoot last week and my Prince's trust meeting went really well yesterday (thanks for your email) Your hair and make up look beautiful as always. You seriously need to take some time to yourself, don't feel bad. Hope work goes ok, I'm off to flitter more of my time away with Harry Potter. love youuu xxx

I quit the gym this monthy because I just did not have the time to go and I can always think of something more exciting to spend the £35 on. I do feel incredibly guilty though. Your makeup looks lovely, especially your eyeliner, is that the mac fluid one? I have put it on my crimbo list!

Your eyeshadow looks gorgeous! I keep waking up before my alarm, think I am horrifically late which is incredibly annoying. And I agree that staying in bed is always better than going to the gym 😉

Love the jeans! I must stop wearing good clothes to uni. We were working with black oil paints and I would be wearing my favourite bloody dress!

My theory on why cats sit on your chest when you sleep is to see if you are still alive! It sounds kind of weird I know but I have had like 5 cats in my life and they always sleep on my mums chest when she falls asleep on the sofa! Its so cute and annoying!!

4 times? How about 5 or 6 or until it drives your significant other mad?

You should just try setting your alarm a little bit later. I've found that you're much more tired all day if you repeatedly snooze and disrupt your sleep pattern as oppose to just setting your alarm that twenty minutes later.

Your makeup and hair are pretty awesome!

I hate those mornings! I had to get up at 8am this morning (on a sunday!!!) and it totally sucked thanks to my bed being so warm and cosy and the rest of the house being freezing cold 🙁

Love your makeup – so simple and pretty and the eye colour is superb, really suits you 🙂

    Joy ♥
