Sunday Best – 5 good things

Lifestyle Blogger

Happy Sunday folks! Hope you’re all having a nice weekend? I’m feeling pretty relaxed and well rested at the moment, so thought I’d share a wee sunday best round up of 5 things which have been making me smile recently.

Boss Lady

Daily Makeup
Bronson
Winter Clean
Continuing on from the clear out which I started in between Christmas and New year, Pete jumped on the wagon too after watching a Netflix documentary called Minimalism. So we’ve had an epic reshuffle throughout the entire house, taking over 10 bags to charity and another 20+ to the recycling centre. We’ve rearranged almost every room, bought new furniture, painted walls, fixed broken stuff, and damn it feels good.

New York & Toronto
On the 3rd of February we fly out for 4 nights in NYC and 3 nights in Toronto, where my bestie Leah is currently living and I can’t wait to see her! I’d originally sourced flights, air b&b etc online but when I took my findings to Virgin Holidays, they were able to beat the price with better flights (cheaper and direct!) along with really nice hotels for both cities. I always assumed it’s cheaper building your own holiday, but at this time of year when travel agents have sales on it’s worth checking in with them too. Suggestions for both cities on a post card please ^_^

Temaki
Since the beloved Yo Sushi in House of Fraser was closed, I’ve struggled to find anywhere in the centre of town for a quick, good sushi fix. Somewhere you can grab a to go portion or some casual lunch (instead of a fancier sit down meal like in my last post) Alas, Temaki just across from Central Station has answered my prayers! I popped along during the week with Sheri and had a taste of their infamous Sushi Buritto for the first time. SO GOOD. I can sense an addiction forming already.

Fitness and Fitbit
In an attempt to up my fitness levels this year and shed some lbs, I’m a week into Bootcamp with AG Fitness. Sessions are twice a week until mid March and I’m actually really enjoying it so far! All of the coaches are extremely supportive and knowledgeable, and it’s really refreshing to work out in a non intimidating environment where everyone is genuinely rooting for you. Since Pete upgraded to an Apple Watch, I’ve inherited his Fitbit Charge HR and synced it up to My Fitness Pal, so if you’ve got either of them let me know and we can be pals!

Honey Pop Club

As a little gift from me to me (and supporting your local girl gang, always) I signed up for the Honey Pop Club, a subscription box by friend and fellow blogger Amanda which focuses on independent brands, cruelty free beauty, positivity and empowerment. A wee ray of sunshine in a box delivered to you each month for £20. This months box contained some Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner, a Bonnie Bling necklace, NAF nail decals and a Skye Candle – such a perfect little winter care package.

Bronson
I know I said 5 good things, but I wanted to add a 6th for luck, as that’s 6 months we’ve had Bronson and I can’t imagine life without him now. He’s coming on leaps and bounds, and looks like a proper grown up dog now even though he’s still technically a pup. Bronson makes me smile every single day, I think I’ll need to dedicate a proper catch up post to him soon.

What’s been making you smile this week?

Hope you have an awesome time on your holiday! I did the same last year, searched all over for flights and a hotel for a twin centre holiday – then virgin beat the price too! Alsooooo I've got a fitbit HR too. Well I did have – waiting for my replacement to get here in the post so I can obsessively track my steps again xx

I've done the same as you in that the house has had a major overhaul. Got rid of a lot of things we were just storing, donated a tonne of clothing that is like new but is now too big and freshened everything up. So satisfying
