Blogging on my lunch hour, I never thought I’d see the day! Working monday to friday, 8am-7pm is taking its toll on my ‘usual’ routine. Lots of other things which I normally have more time to do in the evenings have taken priority over blogging – please forgive me. I’ve had these pictures saved in a blank post for a few days now so I thought I’d share while I’m sitting at my desk having a munch. As you can see above, the hard work is paying off because I was able to treat myself to a Mulberry Tillie a couple of weeks ago. I am a total bag lady, and have wanted one for soooo long, I decided to treat myself as I know I have guaranteed wages coming in for the next couple of months while I work on this feature film. Knowing my luck, I wont get another contract all year after this! Haha, just kidding. I hate to tempt fate but anyone else out there who is self employed know what it’s like to get the ‘fear’. I’ve not even taken my bag outside yet, the weather has been bloody awful here in Scotland and I’m worried about rain damage – anyone know what I could do to help protect Miss Tillie?
Since my last update I’ve not really been upto much apart from working, lunch dates at the weekend and a sneaky wee trip to the Blythswood Spa. On saturday night I had a brilliant night out in Glasgow with Katrina (my flatmate – above) her wee brother, Leah, Kyle, and Heather. I wore this dress from AX Paris, which is quite different from the style I would usually go for but I am branching out and quite enjoying it 🙂 Online shopping normally makes me quite nervous regarding sizes, but at AX Paris I have been a size 10 every time without fail and have been very pleased with the fit. This is coming from someone, who depending on which shop can be anywhere from a size 8 to a size 14! Katrina wore a dress from Topshop and her new spikey Jeffry Campbell Lita’s. I was worried about wearing mines because of the rain (again, could a spray or something protect them?) along with my new bag but I am SO glad I didn’t. Lets just say the night ended up with me a bit worse for wear, being sick into Johns £120 suit jacket in the back of a taxi. What can I say, I’m a keeper eh girls! Lucky I got it dry cleaned fine and he forgave me…
Spending a lot of time in the office and browsing the internet on my lunch break (dangerous!) I have been using a programme called Clipix to save all the wonderful things I come across and want to remember! I think this might be quite similar to Pintrest? I’ve not used that before but I’m finding Clipix really friendly to navigate round. You can customise different lists, I’ve just got the default ones just now and I’m starting to build them up slowly. The thing I especially like about my wishlist is that Clipix will notify me if the item changes price or sells out, which is really useful. If you’re like me and love to do a lot of imaginary online shopping, this is great for keeping things together in the one place so you can go back later 🙂 Although, maybe a dangerous thing too as I know there’s no way now I will be forgetting anything off my lust list as it is sitting right there infront of me and not hidden in a website shopping basket somewhere. ‘Organise your life’ is their tagline, which as a manic list writer, could be my favourite motto second to ‘Where there’s tea, there’s hope’.
Me and Katrina had a brilliant night in last night, playing about with some interesting new samples I got for review (think dressing up and tattoos…) and taking lots of photographs so I will be back soon to share them with you all. We are going to see the Katy Perry movie tonight in 3D, cannot wait! (It was Katrina who I went with to meet Katy Perry last year) Major girl crush ♥

I love Tillie! I have one in black and I was really worried about water marks – but it has proven to be quite resilient! x

Good on you for treating yourself to the Tillie. I'm self employed too at the mo, so totally understand 'the fear'! Loving the AX Paris dress – it really suits you. Clipix looks very similar to Pinterest, except Pinterest is more about saving images, it doesn't notify you, so it is less of a shopping list and more of an inspiration list I guess. Have fun watching Katy Perry! xx p.s. LOVING the new design of the blog, so pretty!

Ahh lovely bag, Ayden. I'm not sure of any tips to keep it looking nice, though. I'm one of those people who just seems to wear things whatever the weather :/

Oh so jealous of the Tillie, it's a beautiful bag, I can only dream of owning one at the moment, living off the student loan for the time being!(: Love your dress as well wasn't sure about all this dipped hemmingness but now I see them everywhere I kind of want one (: xx

oooh clipix looks fab! signing up now, will be handy for me because I have the worst memory.
July 5, 2012 at 2:56 pmI would pop into clarks and ask the people there what protecting spray you need for your shoes? There might be a Mulberry concession on your local department store, they would know how to protect it? I've just treated myself to a Barbour jacket and I'm worried about waxing it x

Love the bag :-)! Just to let you know I got a spray from the Mulberry store that you use to protect the bags. I just spray it on my Bayswater before and after going out in the rain and so far it has protected it really well. It wasn't too expensive either I don't think! xx

Ah beautiful Tillie!! Well done you on all your hard work.
July 5, 2012 at 3:23 pmYou look gorgeous in that dress, as my sizing can be a bit bizarre I'm always wary with online buying (barr ASOS) but AX Paris have some lush stuff.

Shopping online is the best/worst thing thats been invented, brilliant for convenience but baaaaad for my bank balance :s loving your AX Paris dress, my best mate almost bought it the other week (she doesnt wear dresses often), sizing anywhere seems to be all over the place, its so annoying !
i'm gunna try Clipix , have been trying to do a wishlist for a while but have no idea how to do it :s

Mulberry say to use Collonil Waterstop Spray (you can get it for about £6/£7 from Amazon), it's really easy to do, you literally just spray your bag and polish it up with a clean cloth if you need to 🙂

Ohhh man, that bag! It's such a shame the rain is spoiling it for your new bag and shoes!

Oh Ayden, it's so PRETTY! It's leather I'm presuming- which means you should be able to use the waterproofing spray they make for shoes- just look in a supermarket with the shoe polish or anywhere else that sells that kind of thing. I just covered my new pretty leather bag with it, and all my shoes.

For the shows I'd definitely recommend a protection spray – I've never ruined a pair of shoes with that sort of thing, and it has saved multiple pairs of shoes from dirt and mud.
As for the bag – I'm not so sure what to use there but I'm sure there's some sort of leather protection out there!
