I’ve spent the last two days packing and moving, and tomorrow I will be shifting some final goodies I bought for the house, and last but not least – moving Oscar and Alfie and their cage. I built this a month or so after I got them, and it’s based on the C&C cages you find online. It’s fleece bedding rather than sawdust (with layers of towels and newspaper underneath) and is so much easier to keep clean rather than the smaller pet shop cage I had before. Plus, they have a bigger space to run about (and more room to poop, it’s never ending!)
Haha, its like MTV cribs! However Oscar and Alfie don’t have a fridge for you to nosy into, they do have a ramp which goes up to a 2nd level, their little kitchen area.
Oscar
Alfie
Coming over for dinner (taught them to squeak at the word ‘yum yum’s’ successfully, after seeing this video)
Oscar getting stuck into their salad.
Nom nom nom.
Bath time 🙂
I give them a wash with guinea pig shampoo every 8 weeks or so. The hair from their back had gotten so long it was curling right under their bum, so a haircut was much needed.
All wrapped up, towel dried and then 10 mins with the hair dryer. They love it now, I can’t say they quite trusted me the first few times.
All clean and ready to impress ♥
On days like the past few days, where I’m rushing about doing lots of errands and domestic chores, I find myself having to constantly tie my hair up after how long its getting (see, last year) Lisa sent me two gorgeous headbands from her shop Dainty Roses (remember the lovely clips and headbands she sent me earlier this year too?) I’ve just realised that post is almost 6 months to the day, and was as I was literally just moving house to the last flat in Linlithgow. What strange timing.
My room was so dark so excuse the shoddy editing of the above picture. Lisa sent me one of her velvet headbands in green and black. I like the green one best when my hair is down, with extensions in and loosely curled, and I find I like the black one best when my hair is tied up. They are super comfy, and don’t slide off your head or sit too tight on it. No need for any extra clips or grips to secure it 🙂 Lisa’s handywork is seriously impressive!
Haha, looks like he’s being strangled… promise he isn’t. You can also spy the edge of my wishbone, star and peace friendship bracelets, a present from Victoria ♥
Aww, wee cuddle. But they’re clean and smell like soap so it’s okay 🙂
The lovely velvet hairband I’m wearing above is £7, however Lisa is offering the Little Blog Of Horrors readers 2 for £10. Pretty awesome deal, and its open until 9/10/11 so be sure to head on over to the special offers page she’s set up. They come in Velvet or Jersey, with loads of different colours and patterns so there’s quite a few to choose from. Let me know if you end up ordering some, I’d love to see how other people style their hair with them.
So tomorrow should be the 3rd and final day of my move. I’m hoping all this heavy lifting will help tone up my bingo wings a bit for my tattoo on thursday – a girl can dream though eh! I won’t have the internet there for another couple of weeks, but I’ll pop home at the weekend and maybe manage a wee sneaky post. My bank balance has taken an absolute battering today (road tax, tax bill, rent, ikea etc) But the house is looking cosy so far, and I’m excited about getting settled ♥
Lots of love,
Ayden x

Your guinea pig is cute! I was going to get a rabbit but my room is too small and I realized that I would be way too busy to take care of it unfortunately. It's ok though, I'll get one when I'm ready! Great photos!

Oh my goodness I love them and their little house!! My little piggies have stairs to their eating quarters but would rather jump…crazy kids;)Do you keep them in the living room? Ours were supposed to be in our hall but I can't put them out there, I think they would be lonely. Oh and do yours ever fall out?! Love the hairband, I have one similar but not worn it yet. Haven't actually worn a hair accessory in a while – need to rectify that.

Good Luck with the move!
This post has actually made me want a guinea pig, and I've never liked them in the past – but that photo of yours all wrapped up in a towel actually made me "aww" in an empty room. It also startled my cat which is probably now jealous and thinks I'll cheat on him with a guineapig…
The headbands look wins aswell, I cannot seem to find any that stay put in my egg shaped head
xx

Aaaah, your guinea pigs are so cute! I have a hamster but she's super small, and hamsters can't be washed (though it's very cute when they roll in the sand). I had no idea you could wash guinea pigs! And you use a hair dryer, haha, that's epic. I bet they were quite terrified by the sound the first few times, right?
