Hello! Remember me? It’s been a while… and please excuse the posery photobooth montage above, in the time it would have taken me to take one ‘proper’ picture with the self timer on my SLR, I had time to take all these silly shots on my macbook. I have been completely swamped with work recently and super busy hours, I actually feel like for once I don’t have anything shiny and new to post about or fill you in on. I have literally been working and nada else. So take this post as a wee unloading of thoughts (a bit of word vomiting) … and if you don’t like words, you may have skipped past this paragraph anyways looking for more pictures, which you wont find so I apologise!
Today is my 12th day working, and our last day of filming so I look forward to greeting the weekend with a smile and getting a bit of a social life back. Also, finally getting the guinea pigs back as their ringworm has almost cleared up and they will be ready to come home by saturday. Kinda worried how they will be with us after being away for a while now, but hopefully some veggies and cuddles will win them over again.
I was treated to a little something in the post this week from Anna at Maggie Angus, after winning her Style Clan for this look I posted. Since doing that look, I now own 3 outa 6 of the items I included in the post (I’m a determined wee shopper that way haha) The Coral Branch necklace thanks to Anna, (thank you so much ♥) She is actually about to launch a gorgeous new range for Maggie Angus called Nightlife, consisting of beautifully made silhouettes of deer, bears, feather, foxes and owls. This collection won’t be available online until july but I have been allowed to give you a sneaky preview here. If you enjoy a bit of Tatty Devine and Stolen Thunder, Maggie Angus will be right down your street 🙂
My weekend is going to consist of some quality time with my boyfriend who has been at the brunt of my bad moods recently. We have a nice little date night planned for tomorrow. Really wanting to see the Hangover 2, for any of you that have seen it will I be disappointed? On sunday I am meeting my friend Gemma for lunch and then Leah for dinner. We have been well fed at work this week between shows, but having time to eat without rushing it down has been a bit of a luxury, so bring on pigging out at the weekend, at my own pace haha.
Next week I am off, and have a blogger dinner/cocktails night planned on tuesday with the girls I went to Girls Day Out at the SECC with. That bloody post is STILL missing. What’s that all about blogger? Anyone else just never get a post back after the whole dramz that happened? I think if it is not back by this week, I will repost the pictures along with whatever shenanigans we get upto on tuesday.
I also have a couple of meetings next week, one at my old uni for which I am part of the curriculum reform panel and another meeting is for a wee design job I am doing at the end of the month. I also have the dentist next week (wahhh) but it’s okay, because my birthday is next saturday so I’m looking forward to that 🙂 Crazy to think that this was almost a year ago. Really, really crazy. My family and friends threw the most wonderful surprise party for me for my 21st. With the cutest buffet I’ve ever seen, and a massive Hello Kitty birthday cake. If you go to the link and have a nosy back on that post, look at how short my hair is! Haha, now I have all this hair and don’t know what to do with it! My favourite thing to do right now is impersonating Cousin It (see one of the photobooth pictures above)
This year I will be turning the grand old age of 22. I am going to spend some time with David and then my family, on sat/sun during the day (yes I will be milking the whole weekend for the fact my birthday is on a saturday this year) On the saturday night, I am going old school and having a girls night in, aka SLEEPOVER, with all my girls in my house! Cheaper than a night out, I think cocktail making, home baking, good food, cheesy music, nostalgic dvd’s, and dancing around my living room like idiots is going to be on the cards. David actually suggested it, he’s such a wee sweetheart and is getting sent off to his parents for the evening while us ladies have our wee night in (and wetherspoons big breakfast the next morning if all goes to plan) I’d really love to hear you girls get nostalgic about sleepovers, with what makes a good night and what you remember from when you were younger. I’ll be getting organised for it next week, and want to throw a nice night for my girls so any suggestions please throw them my way 🙂 I need to find someone with a Costco card so I can buy some party supplies. You know it’s time to buy things in bulk when Costco/Makro are on the cards. Am I the only wierdo that loves places like that?
Going through the motions best describes how I’ve been feeling about bits and bobs recently. The blog being one of them. I’m really questioning what I post, how often I post etc etc. Since my reader count has gotten bigger than I expected, I want to keep up regular content on here for y’all to read. But regular isn’t my middle name, and I hope interest won’t be lost if it’s just a weekly update/feature/post of some sort from me. I recently got an anonymous comment which I am going to share, because it was actually really bloody nice and relates to what I am trying to say:
“Just want to quickly say, really love this blog and loved it even more when I read back to a post from Jan where you had been very honest about how you have the same ups and downs as every other girl etc. Up until that post I had felt a tinge of sadness and thought “Wow, this little lady has the perfect life. I wish I was this happy” and while you clearly are so happy and lovely it was just so refreshing to read. so thankyou for being so real x”
I am a normal girl with a normal life. Perfect isn’t even in my vocab! I stay positive because to be honest I don’t need the internet creepers knowing about the serious in’s and out’s of my life. This blog won’t get any more personal than what I’m willing to share, and I tend to not rant or complain about something unless I actually intend to get off my arse and do something about it. I work like a trooper, I see my friends, I spend time with my family, I try to run a organised wee home with a boyfriend and a couple of piggies in tow :p I want writing this blog to feel like a luxury rather than a chore. So I guess what I’m trying to say is that I hope no matter how often I post, or what I post about, or how ‘out of the loop’ I get, I hope you’ll still stick around.
So, who’s coming to mines for the birthday sleepover then? 🙂
xx

June 3, 2011 at 9:44 amYou know what, I always read all the writing, even if you didn't have any photos, because I know what you've got to say is interesting, and funny, and lovely. So there. 🙂
I love the idea of an old skool sleepover, used to love them, staying awake for ages, eating sweets, watching a crappy horror film or three.
Can't believe the year has gone so quick remember reading your 21st post. And yes HELLO HAIR!! Good work!!
Have a fab weekend lovely, hope the piggies settle back in fine. Missed those little fluffy dudes I bet.

Sounds like you've got an amazing plans for your birthday, hope it's all gonna go well for you. I think the most fun thing about those sleepovers is just really the cheesy things, like eating candies watching movies and dancing. I am so glad your piggies are better, and I am sure you'll win them back 🙂 sounds like you are working hard, but it also sounds like it pays off, since I read you became an art director in your previous post, which is amazing. Just wanted to say, I have already said it many time, your blogs is one of my favorites. theres no post I didn't read for beginning to end, your writing is very honest and interesting. You shouldn't feel the pressure to upload more frequently, or always think what to write about, because like I said, it comes natural for you. 🙂 Anyway, I will always be a fan.
June 3, 2011 at 10:45 amHave a fab weekend! xx

Love this post! I rely on your blog as a little place where I can come and hear about what you're up to in a really unpretentious and honest way. I don't think you need to worry about content because you write so well and I'll always want to hear what you have to say!
June 3, 2011 at 10:52 amYou can count on me to stick around – i'm hardly consistent either!
Email on the way soon. Glad to hear the piggie are nearly better 🙂 xxx

one of the biggest things i don't "get" with blogging is why people choose not to read the text. sure it's nice to look at photos but.. come on. if i'm going to follow a blog i follow it because i find what that person has to SAY interesting. i guess people are lazy? guh. anyway rant over?! sleepover sounds adorbs, i wanna comeeee. facemasks and gossips, yes please! hope you're okay my lover xxxx

I never realized you were turning 22! I thought you were older because you are so established with your work and in general, have a great grasp of How Life Works. Mindblowing.
I hope you have a great birthday!
Your works sounds awesome. Just finished filming? I'd die to get to film at a job.
The photobooth pictures are super duper, mega cute.

I actually didn't realise you were only 21 either, that may be my ignorance or the fact that you are so head strong and grounded for your age, that I naturally assumed you were older. I admire you, really, you bloody work your arse off and still make time for the people that matter. You are an inspiration. I would so come round for a sleepover if I could get the plane fare! Not about driving another 8 hours haha. Hope the piggies settle back in ok and please email me your address so i can send you birthday treats. Love you xxxxx

Enjoy your weekend too, sounds like you've been working like a trooper, and no doubt it'll all pay off so enjoy the sunshine(!) and relax 🙂 ♥ Claire @ Jazzpad

Sounds like a perfect plan for a birthday, and it will be well deserved after your hard week! Costco has the best birthday cake icing ever, and I usually hate normal cake icing. Hope you find someone with a card because there's nothing that screams sleepover more than mountains of sweets! Have a wonderful time missus! xo

you seem to be a very busy lady! hope you weekend was as lovely as it sounded. i need to have me one of these girlie sleepovers. you'd of course be invited if you weren't so far away:( xxxx
June 5, 2011 at 8:43 pmVictoria
Awww Ayden I'm sorry you've got the blogger blues, but I'm sure all your readers will stick around because when you do post it's always a really good heartfelt read.
Your birthday sleepover sounds amazing, It's my birthday coming up at the end of the month I might do something similar, I can't believe I never thought of anything like that (trust a boy to come up with it) I haven't had a sleepover since I was back in school.
Glad to hear the job is going well, I'm very intrigued as to what your're actually doing though…
I hope you have a great week with all your exciting plans sweets xxx
p.s hope all goes well with the piggies x
June 7, 2011 at 8:48 amsian
corrr blimey ayden sounds like you've been go go go these last few weeks! glad you've had a chance to relax & hope your date night was lovely. you're one of the most down to earth bloggers that i follow & i love you for it! your birthday sleepover sounds amazing (as does wetherspoons big breakfast hahaha) the best part about sleepovers was the endless crap you can chat when you're with good friends and the inevitable midnight giggles you get when its time to actually go to sleep! xx
June 7, 2011 at 5:43 pmIvonne
Hope your little piggies make it home safe! 🙂
And you've got a lot of fun in store for you in the next couple of days! Which you totally deserve from working so hard.
I just recently went to see the Hangover 2 and I can honestly say I loved it. I know there is a lot of buzz going around as to how it's not as good as the first one, but man, did it get a good laugh out of me! So if you're just looking for a good laugh, then the movie surely won't disappoint! 😀
And don't worry about how often you post and what you post. It'd been such a disappointment for you to feel posting is more of a chore rather than a hobby. I think you post the most loveliest things and I love reading about all of your adventures 🙂 So I'm definitely sticking around and reading you blog posts!
x, I
