I can’t believe its sunday already! I feel like the pages of my moleskin diary are being scribbled in and turned over quicker than ever. Sometimes I wish time would slow down, so I could make the most of every moment and every day and time I spend with my nearest and dearest. But sometimes I want time to fast forward so that I’m already living in my own wee place with David, with both of us working and building a nice little life together and not being skint ass students anymore. There is so much of the world that I want to see and so many things I want to do – I graduate on the 7th july and it couldnt come sooner! I really feel like I’ve cherished the past three years at uni and made the most of it, by working hard and making a good impression, and learning as many new skills as I possibly could. These final six months before I break free are going to be nervously documented on my blog no doubt, so I apologise in advance for any rants or tears 🙂
This is my little cross stitch I made at my Made In The Shade stitch class last week. I ironed it out and framed it and now its sitting in my grans living room. Quite sweet, non?
(us girlies in action)
The next class I went to was held in the Maisonette but taken by Kirsty of The Wooden Tree – She makes cute little fabric brooches and taught us all her know how! We ate Percy Pigs and had a cup of Bucks Fizz and it was a very nice night 🙂
I did a little cupcake brooch, haha ALL hand sewn so it was a bit wobbly but I’m hoping to make more textile brooches and perhaps pillows etc but machine stitched this time. For my first try, I think it worked out okay! Haha meaning it didnt fall apart 🙂 But Im quite keen to have a go at making some other cute wee things (perhaps an owl, a matroyska doll, moustaches, clouds, diamonds, speech bubbles with embroidered writing…) I would love to give them as presents 🙂 Perhaps something handmade when I reach 100 followers? I need to take a trip to mandors to get some more fabric scraps, and get some haberdashery bits and bobs on my shopping list. I just want to make things! 🙁 But perhaps get the rest of my dissartation out the way first.
We had good chats with the ladies at The Maisonette, and one of the things they did mention was how recently ASOS copied a design from their friend Leona of Lady Luck Rules Ok. You have to read the full post here to get the jist of it, but it really opened my eyes to the world of fashion and retailing and how many brands completely rip other peoples designs off and vice versa. Its absolutely shocking 🙁 Please have a read and show your support. Its not fair that the big boys can get away with it. Independant and original designers and have their work copied (which really is just stealing, if you think about it) and then they produced it in mass at an utterly crappy standard for a cheapy prices. Its made me rethink about where I shop and what labels I buy. Hmm 🙁
On a completely different tangent, here is what I occupied myself with at uni on friday! I made this horror-esque sign using wood, french enamel varnish in a few different colours, some rosco paint and hand made stencils. I think it would maybe belong in a dingy old factory or a powerstation of some sort. It was fun to make anyways, a bit more cartoony than realistic but I was pleased with the end result. My posts have been all over the place recently, with no particular theme but I hope y’all aint bothered with my ramblings none the less 🙂 How many people are looking forward to the new season of Lost?!
I can’t bloody wait! 🙂 Think we will get answers to many of the long laying questions which exist? haha, probably not. Gotta love it though.
MAC’s spring range Give Me Liberty Of London! It looks soooo pretty. Due to launch in March I believe. Me and David went to the Barras today for a wee wander, and I had a good giggle at the quite clearly fake MAC stuff that was on sale at one girls stall. Things like a hello kitty MAC eyeliner and mascara combo in a strange box, which doesnt even exist! And eyeshadows with numbers instead of names? Deary me, dont ever fall for this kinda stuff everyone! There was also a stall at one of the indoor market bits that was selling Links Of London, Pandora, and Thomas Sabo bracelets. They looked and felt real, I dont know how a normal person could judge wether these were fake or not. Apart from the obvious fact that they were being sold at the infamous Barras and I can bet my bottom dollar that they were fake, physically it was really hard to tell. Maybe something like this would turn your skin green after a while? Who knows, best to steer clear of these kinda things anyways. Pandora, even if you bankrupt me I will have an honest earned and paid for bracelet from you one day! 🙁
Well, this Sunday Best has been a real mish mash but I hope you still enjoy! I need to stop distracting myself and finish my bloody essay. Got Glee on ch4 in the background but I need to backdate a bit on the episodes I’ve missed. I heard two Glee songs on the radio today and they were awesome 🙂 Cheesy but cheerful! Jenn said she is going to make me a cd which include some more, cant wait to hear it 🙂 Hope everyone has had a great weekend and in particular a relaxing and super sunday. Much love x

Love your cross stitch but love your cupcake brooch more! You're one talented lady – I definitely couldn't make something so cute on my first attempt!
When I was in my final year of uni I felt exactly the same – I just wanted a house with my boy and a normal working life! It is great but now I miss the student days… never satisfied! 🙂

Ohhh you are so talented and creative! I don't have the patience for crafty little things 🙁 I have a pandora bracelet, it doesn't really have a theme, but I only have silver, black or white on mine, I've got 10 beads so I have to get some more to fill it up. I've thought about maybe getting a thomas sabo bracelet, not sure yet.
I loveeee Glee, I have the cd's volume 1&2 they are great 🙂
Thanks so much for your comment, I really appreciate everyone who reads and sympathises with me through this part of my life, it makes me that much more hopeful when everyone gives me their experiences 🙂
much love, xx

Ah that broach is so adorable! I can't believe that was your first go, I'm impressed! 🙂 Oh they'd be so cute as presents for friends and family. I'd love it if one of my friends made me something! Hope your final months at uni go well :D. xo
