A parcel, a party and buried treasure

I came home from work on saturday afternoon to find this little wonder had been delivered for me 🙂

I won my very first blog competition, thanks to Tillie from She Waits For Whispers

I was soooo pleased to receive these beautiful gifts from Tillie, all the way from New Zeland. I got a gorgeous tote bag, a hair bow, an awesome book of short stories and this cute little card with some very nice words inside ♥ thank you so much Tillie!

So then it was time for a quick change and I went to my friend Cyrus’s first art exhibition in a quirky little cafe in Glasgow. There was a really good turn out, and his work looked brilliant. High five for Cy 🙂 I then headed home and went to my lovely friend Gemma’s family’s house for her surprise 21st birthday party. Lets just say, she was very surprised! Its got me thinking of what I should do for my 21st in June. Any ideas?

For the first time in bloody ages I had a lie in (bliss) this sunday morning and drank tea and generally just pottered about in my pj’s until my papa, Albert, called me outside. I shoved on my uggs and a hoodie and nearly died when I went out into the garden – his garage is often used as storage space for the rest of my familys random crap but enough was enough, and almost all the contents of the huge garage were sitting out in the garden! It was like a car boot sale in my own back yard. Haha, so of course I promptly got rummaging 😉 Bin bags of my old school paperwork, pictures, folders and diaries. I had a look through which was rather nostalgic indeed but the bulk of it is getting sent to the recycling. Lots of teddies, ornaments, and other random crap which will be heading to the charity shop (or the more cobwebbed stuff is heading in the bin)

However, I did come across a few hidden gems that I thought I would share with you. Firstly, my mums old manual nikon slr camera. My mum was very much into photography when she was younger, and my papa actually made a dark room for her in the cupboard under the stairs and used to develop her film. I found this camera and tripod, lenses, flash, diffusers etc and I am very excited about investigating to see if it still actually works 🙂 the camera bag was a bit moth ridden but all the contents inside seem fine.

To give you an idea of how old this camera is, inside the zip pocket were two adults and one childs ticket to Disneyland Florida in 1993 🙂 my first trip to America! Haha how retro. Will definately be keeping these to add to my collection of favourite things (see the post below this one)

I also came across my collection of TY Beanie Babies. Do you remember them? I was completely obsessed with these when I was younger, they are all still in pretty good condition with tags still attached! I think Tyler and Aaron are going to love me when I take these round to my mums 🙂

Came across this little cutie – which at the grand old age of 20 I think I will be keeping for myself ♥

Just goes to show that sometimes you dont need to go any further than your back garden to get a good old car bootsale style haul on a sunday 🙂

Oh wow I love it when you get things unexpectedly through the post – the romance of snail mail has not yet died! What a wonderful find 🙂 I do remember TY beanie babies hahaa, although I made the fateful mistake of ripping the tags off so I could throw them around the playground (ooops) are they worth much these days?

The parcel is so damn cute.

I'm so in awe of you home style car boot! Just shows what you can find in your garage.
Love the retro Disneyland Florida tickets- definitely a keepsake.

I have a box full of ty's in the loft! Ahhh I don't think I can part with them; the bears were always my fave, closely followed by the monkeys, bongo, congo, cheeks? Something like that ha!
I know I’m beginning to sound a little sad, But I love the tags, there little name and d.o.b and 4 sentence rhyme. I swear I used to recall them in my sleep!
I always thought it was kind of cute anyhow.

Many great finds here! I love posts like this 🙂
