honey, I’m home

So it’s been a while 🙂 but I have had the most amazing month of my life! If you’re reading this, then thanks for sticking around you lovely folks ♥ I have so many pictures to share, so much to talk about – and on top of that my step mum is in labour right now so by this evening I should have a new little brother or sister! Got a very nervous phone call from my daddy, you can tell he’s not done the whole baby thing in a long time :p I start my new job at the beeb on saturday, so tonight and tomorow will consist of chilling, unpacking, catching up with my nearest and dearest, organising, getting the flat ready and a wee tattoo touch up tomorow. Jeez!
My google reader is at like 187427218753245276+ and counting haha, I need to catch up on what everyone has been upto! So maybe later I’ll make a pot of tea and a mountain of toast (oh gosh, I have missed it so) and spend a couple hours doing some reading. I have more photos than you can imagine, so for now heres a little pick of the best, and the less ‘touristy’ ones, that sum up mine and David’s month backpacking around europe. So… here goes 🙂
Thunderstorms on the flight out to Belguim, diverted to Germany, the 3 hour coach journey to our original destination is rocked by monsoon weather – and this! All the men got out to try and move it, good lads! Haha.
Too many gorgeous bakeries in Brussels…
And trying not to give into them all the time! (Just some of the time)
Drinking lots of iced tea, and getting David hooked too.
Trying to squeeze in a normal cuppa whenever I could! This was a cute tea room in magical Bruges.
Hopping from hostel to hostel (this cutie was EastSevenBerlin)
Finding my favourite designer that you just don’t get much of in the UK anymore 🙂
Visiting places, like the Berlin Wall, that I’d only read about in history class. Seeing what’s left of it in real life gave me shivers.
Stumbling across the most amazing street performers!
Eating some bloody good food (This was at White Trash Fast Food, a quirky restaurant in east Berlin)
What did I say about good food? 😉
Visiting some beautiful buildings, with AWE-some architecture.
Sipping raspberry beer and enjoying an outdoor orchestra.
Visting Berlin zoo, and amongst the amazing animals they had there (Edinburgh, this makes you look shite!) I got excited about feeding a bloody goat haha. Farm girl much?
Chilling at the park in Prague when it got too hot for us peely wally scots.
Visiting some beautiful cathedrals (I don’t know why I put this picture instead of one of the churches interiors… I guess theres just something about this one that I really like)
The butterfly house in Vienna – ha, doesn’t he look so masculine, holding a butterfly? 🙂
Discovering what looks like the crappiest but best cereal in the whole world!
Eating the best ramen I’ve had in my entire life! Properly converted David to being able to use chopsticks, and loving japanese, vietnemese food etc 🙂
Tasting the local dishes and deserts. Hungarian funnel cake, anyone?
Pulling funny faces, everywhere. More on Davids camera which I’ve still to sort out! This was us on the way to the hot outdoor spa/pools in Budapest.
Playing around with my slr, and teaching the mister really simple ‘drawing with light’.
Had to come up with his own version eh? Such a boy!
The Croatian takeaway place, Surf N Fries, amazing!
The best coffee I’ve ever tasted (sorry starbs) in Split.
Being followed by a cute, dirty wee kitten and wanting to sneak it on the night train with us 🙁 aww.
Swimming in Lake Bled.
Writing my final few postcards in Ljubljana.
The biggest hello kitty EVER in Munich!
Haha, I had to buy a tshirt didn’t I? How classy.
Chilling out, and hiring bikes in Interlaken.
One of our better self timer shots!
True story – a shandy tastes better in Bern.
Meeting up with the lovely Ash, who is working as a scenic artist in Neuchatel right now.
Enjoying the sights, without letting any rain dampen our spirits 🙂
Drooling in Sephora in Paris, and finally getting my mini macaroons in Laduree! Im in love!
(l-r Raspberry x 2, Chocolate x 2, Blackcurrent, Vanilla x 2, Caramel)
Us outside my house this afternoon! What an amazing trip with a super special person 🙂
(Shot in a vintage photobooth in Lafayette, Paris)
David Sutherland, I love you so much. Thank you for looking after me, giving me lots of laughs and keeping me safe on our travels. What your mum said to me when she gave me a hug outside the car this afternoon made my heart melt. I love being a part of your family. First trip of many, okay? I can’t wait to get settled into our wee house, I miss you already!
Aaauw okay, enough of the gushy stuff 🙂 Sorry guys! This has been a huge, picture heavy post. I’m pretty sure I’ve got more stuff to write about, but would you like to hear/see more about any particular cities? Or a post about the stuff I bought on a few mini shopping trips while I was away? Fire ahead with suggestions! Davids going to make a video on Imovie soon with some mini clips we took on his camera, which should be a giggle so I’ll post that on my youtube when its done. But for now, it’s time to go unpack and get the kettle on 🙂 muchos love!
Ayden x

My friends are in the midst of doing this exact trip, but they return next month.
It's definitely something I want to do.

I'd love to see a post on travel – like costs, experiences, hostels and the locals.
Hopefully it'll set me up for if I ever get chance to do it!
