School for monsters

After my trip to see Avenue Q a couple of weeks ago I really can’t get a few of the numbers out of my head, School For Monsters, It Sucks To Be Me, and Everyone’s A Little Bit Racist being the main ones. It was such a good musical, a bit racy at times but lots of laughs! I do love musicals, but Wicked will always be my favourite.

TOTALLY going off subject there, I’ve had a nice wee busy week on the lead up to my holiday this friday. I received something lovely in the post from the kind folks over at one of my favourite jewellery brands, Me & Zena.

Excuse me while I have a total fan girl moment right here. I have been wearing my Me & Zena Geek Glasses necklace which Jenn got me for my birthday, pretty much non stop. I chose this *I See You* Hexagon Eye Ring, in silver to match – which means I will be able to wear them both together (bling bling eh) This is one of the newbies on their site (and has also been spotted on Fearne Cotton as well – that girl’s got good taste!) Anyways, despite my worrying at how chubby my fingers are, with no rings EVER fitting me, I was a bit worried I’d have to wear this gem on my pinkie or something haha. But it is a comfy size 8 and fits my middle finger perfectly. I kinda want to punch someone soon and give them an interesting indent on their forehead 🙂 It also came in that gorgeous little pouch, which means it can be stored away safely when I’m not wearing it, amongst the existing riot which is my jewellery drawer. Thank you Me & Zena ♥ Your quirky jewellery rocks my world!

I also decided to pretty my nails up a bit this week, using the silver OPI polish I got in last months Glossybox, and my black Models Own/WAH nail art pen to create some sort of mess slightly resembling polka dots. I am absolutely hopeless with nail art, I really could be doing with some sort of masterclass from Charlene or Gem. Going to a blogger event in Edinburgh tomorrow with a few lovely ladies, so maybe I will get Charlene really drunk and steal all her nail art secrets!

At the weekend I spent some time at David’s mum and dads house for dinner and a catch up, and also went to my friend Luisa’s engagement party. She also has a wee bloggity blog, so please go and check her out. On friday I went to hers and we did some prep for the party. Luisa cooking some amazing food, Joanne making the cutest decorations, and myself on baking duty (under Luisa’s watchful eye, since I did end up pouring boiling chocolate all over her kitchen worktop and floor) Here’s how I got on…

Luisa made the cupcakes and I did the icing – I know it looks like it’s about to melt off the face of the earth, but it was SO warm in Glasgow last week, Luisa’s flat was roasting and I was having some serious butter icing issues! Plus, I piped that using a Lakeland bag with the corner cut out, hahaha deary me. I promise they looked better once I’d thrown some edible glitter over them. But they tasted awesome so that’s the most important thing right? All the food at the party was amazing (I think I would like her Italian family to adopt and feed me like that every day please) And some really exciting news is that Luisa has asked me to be a bridesmaid 🙂 I am over the moon, it is such an honour to be asked along side her best friend and sister in law (to be) ♥  I promise I will do her proud, and hopefully resemble nothing like Annie from Bridesmaids (but really, how funny is that film!)
