Not done one of my sunday best’s in a while. I guess this week I am just so grateful to be lying in my bed on a sunday morning, drinking tea, listening to music, replying to emails, and browsing the internet at my leisure with Dexter cuddling next to me (Well, 50% cuddles and 50% gnawing at my elbow) I have really enjoyed this week off, and can’t believe I’ve got another one before I start the next job. Enjoying exercising, date night’s with John and lunching with pals far too much. The rest of today will consist of going a run, tidying the flat, and popping a bunch of stuff on ebay. Is this the sort of stuff you love to do on a sunday too? Here’s some of what my past week consisted of.
Went to my Dad and Julie’s last weekend for Max’s 2nd birthday. Cannot believe he is 2 already. It was great to see Lily too and watch her smiling and laughing for the first time. It was a lovely day so we played in the garden, had lots of good food and lots of good chat. It’s strange to think that my mum had just given birth to me at this age. Being around my siblings does make me so broody… One day!
I took my wonderful friend Cyrus for a belated birthday lunch to the Three Sisters Bake in Quarriers Village. I actually found out about this place via my mum – she is worse than me for tweeting and posting on facebook lovely meals, cakes and fancy pots of tea. She gave me my love for places like Wholefoods, independent deli’s and Farmers Markets. Definitely a mammy’s gal right here. Mind you, my Dad has passed on to me a love for motorbikes and despite riding motorcross with him for years, he will not entertain the thought of me and John wanting to get our road bike license next year! Back to Three Sisters – the food was divine and all the cute bits and bobs they had on sale was right up my street. Will certainly be visiting again.
So you probably noticed my new specs in the pictures above? Hello hipster! They look black but are actually tortoise shell, and contain the same prescription as my raybans. Which is actually quite nice having the option of more than one pair of glasses for work etc. I got them from Firmoo, who are actually offering your first pair of eyewear from them for free. All you need to do is pay the shipping. Whats the catch? Well, I guess there isn’t one. They have launched this programme to offer free eyewear to first time buyers to get more people to try out their products and service. You aren’t obliged to do anything after that. I was waiting on the ‘but’, or the compromise in quality or delivery time etc but it was seriously spot on. New glasses, great quality and with my exact prescription within a week of ordering. Not bad at all!
One thing I have NOT been saving money on, however, is the beginnings of my autumn/winter wardrobe. I told you, all this clearing out makes space for new things – too dangerous! But this will be me for the next wee while.
Studded leather jacket from Primark.
Army jacket from Topshop.
Knit jumpers from Primark.
Skull jumper from Topshop.
Socks and necklace from Accessorize.
Skeleton hands tshirt from Topshop.
Galactic tee’s from New Look.
Fox cushion from Urban Outfitters (had my eye on this fella for ages!)
Rug from Urban Outfitters.
And finally, Ipad – Uh oh! So it seems my buys got less a/w related as the post went on. But now I am an ipad owner I need your suggestions for useful (and more importantly CUTE) apps. I am also on instagram now if you’d like to come say hello – my username is hellorogue. Enjoying an empty flat and a boy free weekend (minus Dexter!) I’m off to indulge in my wonderfully average sunday ♥

The fox cushion is amazing! I really don't like foxes as an animal, but on a cushion/bag/accessory I love them haha. Can't wait to see how you get on with your iPad x

I LOVE all the clothes you've got. So ready for winter eh! I bought a RI jacket (the one with the leather sleeves) and it's been sunny ever since. Typical. 🙂

Goddamn, Primark has upped its game for those sweaters! Max is so adorable, making me broody too! (Though I'm not gonna lie, I've been broody since I was about sixteen. Eek) Absolutely loving your new hair too, I'm taking how good it looks as inspiration & courage for when I dye mine dark later today! xx

Loving the AW purchases, and the iPad- so jealous, am currently saving up for one, and drooling over the one my parents/the business have bought. Most dangerous apps I've had for my iPhone have been Topshop and Zara shopping Apps… Also kinda addicted to the WIWT app.

Thanks for the review of Three Sisters Bake, I hadn't heard of it and went on your recommendation last week and loved it! The food was fab and loved the birdcages out front. Need to try the new Thai place next, heard lots of good things about it. Oh and your wee brother and sister are adorable, and the new specs are v nice!
